Fats and Cholesterol

Fats are commonly found in many foods. Fats are made up of fatty acids. Some fatty acids, such as Omega 3, have been found to be ¡°healthy¡±. Some saturated fatty acids have been found to be potentially harmful.

Carbohydrates

The Carbohydrate component of foods contains sugars, complex carbohydrates, fiber (including dietary fiber), starch, etc. Total Carbohydrates are a calculation based on Proximate tests (Fat, Protein, Moisture, Ash). Calories are usually calculated from total grams of Protein, Fat and Carbohydrate.

Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamins and minerals are important components for Nutritional labels. Vitamins A and C Calcium, Iron, Sodium are all mandatory components for FDA / USDA testing. However, it may be important for your product to have addition testing, if expected levels of other vitamins and minerals are high.
